My inbound calls are going direct to voicemail!
Trouble shooting steps to try when some/all of your incoming calls are being routed directly to voicemail
1. Check If the Caller is Blocked
- Go to your phone's Contacts or Phone app.
- Locate the specific caller.
- Ensure they are not listed under the blocked contacts.
- For iPhone: Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts.
- For Android: Phone app > Settings > Blocked Numbers.
2. Verify "Do Not Disturb" (DND) or Focus Mode
- Ensure your phone is not in Do Not Disturb mode, which may send certain calls directly to voicemail.
- For iPhone: Swipe down to access Control Center, and check if DND is on.
- For Android: Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb.
3. Check Call Forwarding
- Call forwarding settings may be redirecting calls to voicemail.
- Dial #004# to cancel any active call forwarding.
- Alternatively, access Settings > Phone (iPhone) or Phone app > Settings (Android) to review forwarding options.
4. Update Your Contact Settings
- Check if the specific contact is marked as "Silent" or is part of a group that bypasses ringing.
- Edit their contact and ensure no custom settings are forcing voicemail.
5. Network Settings
- Restart your phone or toggle Airplane Mode on and off to reset the network connection.
- Check for any carrier updates:
- For iPhone: Settings > General > About (prompt to update carrier settings if available).
- For Android: Settings > System > Advanced > System Update.
6. Voicemail Settings
- Ensure your voicemail isn’t configured to immediately route this specific caller's number.
- Dial 1 or use the voicemail app to review settings.
